Hey, hey, hey, VIPs! It’s time for your weekly dose of entertainment news from MegaCityVIP. I know many of you are busy prepping for your football festivities, so I won’t waste too much time with the intro. Onward, we march!
On Thursday, Beyonce took to the stage at the Marc Morial Convention Center in New Orleans for a live press conference regarding her Pepsi Halftime Superbowl show.
It was only fitting after the fit that the media pitched after her national anthem debacle, that she show her naysayers what she was really made of by busting out an impromptu performance of the Star Spangled Banner with absolutely no track. She ended the performance with “Thank you so much. Any questions?” Tell the haters to have several seats, Bey!
49ers cornerback, Chris Culliver was on his ignorant tip during media day. He went on an anti-gay tirade stating that gays shouldn’t be on his team, or even allowed to play in the NFL! Somebody boo this man…
“I don’t do the gay guys man. I don’t do that. No, we don’t got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do.”
He then said that gay players shouldn’t come out until they’ve left the league for 10 years. Not a good way to preface the biggest game of your life, dude. The NFL has released their own statement rejecting Culliver’s remarks and stating that they “proudly support the LGBT community.”
Earlier this week, Rick Ross’ car was sprayed with bullets, in an attempt to take him out after his birthday celebration in Fort Lauderdale. He crashed his Rolls Royce into the side of a building while trying to get away. Neither he nor his girlfriend, who was with him, was hurt. While some believe that he staged the whole incident,
Ross has hired around the clock armed security to protect him. I applaud him for taking his life so seriously… but if a gun doesn’t kill him, a heart attack might. Was a KFC bucket in the floor? A BK bag, perhaps? I swear, when I heard his line in John (If I Die Today), I thought he said “I gotta whopper in the car.” Neither the (Burger) King nor Colonel Sanders could be reached for comment. Let me stop playing…
Future has baby mama problems. Jessica Smith sued the rapper last year for child support for her 10-year-old son. Now that the paternity test is in, the “Same Damn Time “rapper has to fork over $1662 a month in support. He now has a woman named Britanni who might be headed down the same road soon. Good luck, Ciara. You picked a good one.
And what would our weekly roundup be like without a Chris Brown story? This week, ole Chris got into a fight with Channel Orange crooner, Frank Ocean. Allegedly, this all started over a parking space (or a handshake near the parking space… none of this makes any sense). Chris punched Frank and there were suddenly 4 other people in the fight. I guess keeping it real went really wrong.
The crews destroyed the lobby at Westlake Recording Studio and when the police were called, Chris hightailed it from the scene. He has been pretty tight-lipped about everything, maintaining his innocence. Now he’s telling everyone that he feels like Jesus on the cross, tweeting pictures of the religious figure. Supposedly, there is surveillance video that clears both singers and shows only the two cliques fighting. We’ll just have to see how this plays out.
Well, that’s all I have for you guys this week. Stay tuned to MegaCityVIP for all your hip-hop news and be sure to check them out for all your music promotion needs.
