Executive producer Dwayne “DL” Clark has announced today that the King of Paper Chasin’ sequel, King of Paper Chasin’ 2: Certified, has announced the addition of Tahiry Jose of VH1’s hit TV show, “Love and Hip-Hop: New York” to its cast. Ms. Jose will be playing the lead role of Kim, the epitome of the “ride or die” female that is a perfect compliment to Clark’s lead protagonist, Carter Blanche.
“I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity to enter into the world of acting by joining the cast of King Of Paper Chasin’ 2: Certified,” said Ms. Jose. “Ever since I was young girl, it has always been my dream to be on the big screen, so when I was asked to be a part of this movie, I jumped at the chance! I see so much of myself in the role of Kim — a loyal, strong, and honest woman that most men say they want, but are oftentimes intimidated by. I am planning on bringing my A-game to this project! I’m looking forward to joining my castmates and getting to work. The first film did extremely well, and it was all done independently! To hit Showtime, Netflix, and The Movie Channel is a big deal. Joining a franchise that already has a fan base is awesome, and to say that I am excited is understatement!”
King of Paper Chasin’ 2 picks up where the original film left off: the story of Carter Blanche is told through the first-person perspective, where sex, greed, and deception are all central pitfalls as he chases his dream of rising to the top in the gritty city. However, every choice he makes can — and will — cost lives.
The original King of Paper Chasin’ is currently enjoying licensing deals with Netflix and Showtime Networks, and Legend Group Studios in Santa Monica, CA and has optioned the rights to adapt King Of Paper Chasin’ into a weekly one hour drama TV series. The Kickstarter program includes rewards such as advanced screening invitations in various cities, pictures with the cast & crew, on-set tours, and DVD copies of the film.
