Happy Friday! VIPs! I hope that wherever you are, you’re enjoying nice weather. We seem to get all four seasons in a week. It’s finally feeling like spring time here in the south. I can finally have some outside weekend plans. Anyway, I know what you came here for, so let’s start off with our musical facts for the week.

Did you know that on this day in 2010, Sony music announced the deal made with Michael Jackson’s estate to release 10 album projects over seven years? The deal is worth more than $200M. Since his death in 2009, Sony has sold over 31 million copies of MJ’s albums. Also, yesterday (3/14) was Wil.i.am’s birthday. Did you buy him some skinny jeans? Or maybe you found it in your heart to send him some lyrics since his only consist of repeating words and adding “Oh-wee-oh” in various incarnations for three minutes. I miss the Elephunk-era of BEP. Why won’t he give it back?

Speaking of MJ, his kids and mother are suing the entertainment company, AEG Live for their negligence in hiring Dr. Conrad Murray. They’re asking for$ 60 billion in damages and estimated earnings had the mega star lived. AEG thinks that the amount of money they are asking for is ridiculous. Of course they would think that.

So, Lil Wayne has been hospitalized for seizures again. This time, it was after a video shoot in L.A. The rapper previously suffered seizures aboard two different airplanes in October. He was taken to the Cedar-Sinai Tuesday night and released early Wednesday morning. These stories seem to keep getting crazier. Earlier this evening (Friday)) it was reported that Wayne was back in the hospital on life support. Just hours after his release, one of his body guards found him unconscious in his hotel room. He has been placed into an induced coma and remains unstable. Birdman and Mack Maine have been tweeting to the contrary. According to Birdman “My son is in good spirit..feelin much betta…be home soon.YMCMB” And Young Money Entertainment president, Mack Main tweeted “Wayne is alive and well! We watching the Syracuse game…thanks for the prayers and concern..he will update you all soon. #love” Here’s hoping that the latter is true and Wayne is in fact, doing well.

Michael Vick has been receiving death threats! After cancelling his book tour due to “credible threats” being called into various Barnes and Noble locations around the country, Vick has declared that this will not stop him from living his life. He will continue his community service as planned with extra security measures in place before his stops. A rep for Mike says that “Regardless of the past threats, he has millions of fans around the world and has been receiving countless messages of support.”

Kim Zolciak better not be tardy for her court date! Everyone’s favorite “Housewife” is being sued by Kandi Burress in relation to her song and unpaid royalties, copyright infringement and unauthorized use among other things. The song sold over 102,000 copies.

Trey Songz is performing at the Essence Festival this 4th of July weekend in New Orleans. Trey will be joining Solange, Beyonce, Jill Scott, Maxwell and Big Daddy Kane among others. The super concert will be held at the Super Dome while there will be seminars available at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, covering topics such as health and personal empowerment. Tickets range from $161 to $2700.

Alright folks, that’s all I have for you this week. I appreciate you stopping by! As always, stay tuned to MegaCity VIP for all your hip hop entertainment and music promotion needs.
