– SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Among the artists who have most resisted easy categorization is fresh to the scene artist Nia Dinero. The singer, emcee, and actress from Woodbridge, VA (DMV) has put out multiple remakes of quality and varying tones since the early portion of 2015. Nia’s talent is one that reveals the uncovering of something special and long overdue. She always knew she had a passion for music. It wasn’t until Dinero decided to no longer keep her mucisal capabilities a secret that she stepped out of her comfort zone to perform for the first time at her high schools talent show.
During her college years Dinero had an awakening, she would unveil her musical ability to her aspiring and growing fan base. It was during this time at Norfolk State University, where she attended college, that her love for music became more of a focus and lifestyle than just a special interest. There was also a bigger picture and transformation taking place as she began to vibe with up and coming producer, Big Dreamz. These two had a special musical connection that lead to her expanding her creative sound with his production, as well as collaborations with other artists. Her raw new talent was expressed on many local and regional stages that gained the support of her peers that ultimately led to a radio personality position on WNSB Hot 91.1 in Norfolk, VA.
All of the preceding opportunites paved the way for Dinero to become a true entertainer. Nia says that, “When people hear me I want them to hear an artist, whether I rap or they hear me vocally, I want them to hear music.” Her newly released single, “Super Nia” is the perfect example of how she brings a unique, cunning, and clever perspective in the art of rap that we call Hip Pop. From metaphoric punch lines that make you think, with an added comedy and sense of truth, Dinero hopes to inspire her audiences with her unpresented flow compared to the interest of those who take to the seamless blends of rapping and singing from likes of Lauryn Hill, Fergie, TLC and Missy Elliot.
